Artwork Guidelines
For the best possible print quality, we recommend submitting your artwork as High-Resolution PNG, EPS, AI, or PSD files.
Key Artwork Requirements:
- Resolution: Artwork must be created at 300 DPI. Simply increasing the DPI of a low-resolution image won’t improve its quality; it will still print poorly. High-quality images are crucial for a clean, sharp print.
- Edge Quality: Please check your image edges carefully for pixelation and fades.
- Backgrounds: Remove all background colors, shirts, shirt colors, or any elements not intended for print. Your design should have a transparent background. Avoid using files downloaded directly from the internet, as they are often low resolution.
- Vector Artwork: For the absolute highest quality, vector artwork is always best.
- Color Mode: All artwork will be printed in CMYK with a white under-base. If you submit artwork in RGB, colors are subject to change upon conversion to CMYK, which may alter the overall look of your design. Colors may also vary slightly from what you see on your screen due to differences in monitor calibration.
- Pantone Colors: While Pantone colors are accepted, we cannot guarantee an exact match for every shade.
Artwork Not Recommended (and why):
- Small, Fine Print: Text smaller than 0.35 inches may not print or transfer well onto the garment.
- Fine Details: Tiny, delicate details may not adhere correctly to the transfer. We recommend adding a stroke or thickening any fine details for optimal results.
- Effects: Do not include effects such as glows, drop shadows, neon colors, or actual glitter.
- Transparency/Opacity Effects: These do not translate well in the DTF printing process.
- Vibrant Fluorescent/Metallics: DTF printing uses CMYK, so it cannot produce vibrant fluorescents, metallics, or extreme glows. We strive for the closest possible match, but exact color portrayal from your screen cannot be guaranteed.
Order & Production Details
- Design Size: Your design cannot be larger than the sheet size you’ve selected.
- Trimming: We do not individually trim your transfers. For large orders, transfers will be rolled. You’ll need to trim and separate each design yourself.
- Pre-Order Artwork Review: To ensure the best possible print quality and avoid issues, we highly recommend messaging us with your art before ordering. Not all artwork prints well with DTF, and reviewing it beforehand can save you headaches and allow us to assist with any necessary adjustments.
Turnaround Time & Shipping
- Production Time: Depending on your quantity, most orders placed before noon may be printed the same day and completed by the end of the day; orders placed after noon will be processed the following business day. Average production time is 2-3 business days. During peak seasons, please expect 4-7 business days.
- Shipping: Once your order leaves our facility, we have no control over shipping times or delays. Shipping time is calculated after production is complete. Orders are shipped via USPS by default. If you prefer to use your carrier, please email us before placing your order.
Heat Pressing Instructions
Achieving the best results with DTF transfers requires a quality heat press. We do NOT recommend using a Cricut Easy Press, manual hand heat press, or iron due to the difficulty in achieving and maintaining consistent pressure.
Application Steps:
- Pre-Press: Heat press the garment for 5-10 seconds to remove excess moisture. (Recommended but not always necessary)
- Position: Place the transfer in the desired position on your garment. (Note: Different fabrics may require different temperatures and press times.)
- Press: Heat press the transfer at 325-345 degrees F for 12-20 seconds with mid to heavy pressure.
- Cool Down: Remove the garment from the heat press and allow it to cool completely.
- Cold Peel: Peel the transfer from one corner, diagonally to the opposite corner.
- Second Press: Cover the image with parchment paper or a non-stick sheet and press again for 10 seconds.
- Hot Peel: After pressing, before peeling, rub the image area with a random rag and peel the transfer from one corner, diagonally to the opposite corner, cover and press again for 5 seconds, sealing in the image.
These instructions are a general guide; your specific heat press settings may vary.
